Long-Lost Twins or Identity Theft?

The plaintiff says she and the defendant share the same name but have never met. She had her identity stolen, and believes the defendant used her Social Security number to take out a mortgage, as well as student loans, so she’s suing. The defendant says she’s been a victim of identity theft recently as well, ever since a computer was stolen from the Veterans Administration. She’s countersuing for lost wages.
