Duncanville H.S. Sparklers prepare for Special Olympics performance

The Sparklers at Duncanville High School have been invited to perform at the Special Olympics in July. They are the only public school in Texas to perform at the World Games, which will be held in Los Angeles.


The Duncanville Sparklers love showing their school spirit in front of a crowd.

During their weekly rehearsals, the cheerleading squad practices routines they eventually take on the field at football and basketball games.

“They love to be Sparklers,” said Elizabeth Thompson, special education teacher at Duncanville High School. “They love to cheer. They live to cheer.”
