DRUM COVER - 99 by Toto

This song features a signature Jeff Porcaro groove that can be heard on many different albums that he played on through the 70s and 80s. He makes it sound very simple, but the single handed 16th note pattern on the hi hats, and lining those notes up the the kick and the snare so they don't flam is very challenging. Then there's of course making the groove feel good and sound relaxed while not let your right hand tense up. The groove between the floor tom and the ride cymbal during the intro and outro is also very creative and fun to play. Hoping to do another Toto song or 2 at some point to outline this same type of groove. Stay tuned!
