Closer to Cameras in Courtrooms!
Last month the supervising judge in Santa Clara issued an order that finally allows audio recordings of public court proceedings in felony, family law , probate and civil cases. While this is long overdue and a far cry from cameras in courts, it is a blink from the state's judicary where the lack of court reporters available to make transcripts of public court proceedings has violated the due process rights of thosuands, if not milions of litigants, witnesses, and crime survivors.
Our courts are far from transparent or accoutable, but this is a half step in a better direction.
Thank you all for coming on the ride - we keep going unitl we have cameras covering every public courtroom from Sea to Shining Sea!
