A Borrowed Car for the Wrong Person

The plaintiff says she loaned the defendant her car, only for the defendant to end up getting arrested in another state for having drugs in the vehicle. She is suing for the impound fees on the car, which they could not recover. The defendant admits to struggling with substances, but insists she’s been clean for the past year and a half. She is countersuing for emotional distress because she insists the substances in the car belonged to the plaintiff.
