#025 - David Mitchell - Upstart Crow - Portrait in Oil - Quick Sketch - No pencil start

A quick one sitting sketch, of one of my favorite comedian/actors 'David Mitchell'. He's so good in the brilliantly written 'Upstart Crow' about William Shakespeare's desperate life before he became rich and famous.
I have some screenshots of the cast in character and as i'm a sucker for period costume i think i'll be doing some more if these of the cast in costume soon.

I'm brave with this one and just start straight onto a primed board with no sketch marks. However I do use a rather nifty device i just got from amazon called a 'scale divider'. It's the first time i've ever used it and it was really great for measuring the size and proportion of features.
